This Educational Video Presentation is a collaboration between the Father and Son team of Vance and Lucas Bessey. It centers upon the world of Media as created through the Narrative Arts which comprises the creative forces behind: Comic Books and Graphic Novels, Children’s Books and Anime, Single Panel Gag Cartoons and Comic Strips, Animation and Computer Graphic Imaging, Video Game Design and Filmmaking, Script Writing, Short Stories and Novel Writing. This course will focus upon the Narrative Side of Creating Storyline for all the Media mentioned above. It will touch upon the artwork needed for these endeavors but will not be an Art Class, in the traditional sense.

Our goal is to help Creators take the Characters and Worlds that they have originated and place them into Stories that can inhabit those worlds and progress through them in evocative and exciting Storytelling.

Storytelling is the other half of the Narrative Arts and it is the separate but equal Skill Set necessary to take your Characters into a Story of their own. Just add a setting, characterization, and a conflict - and weave them all into an exciting complete Story - using one or more of the 9 Basic Storylines. Learn to create a Story with a beginning, middle and end, with interesting interpersonal relationships between your cast of characters, with challenges to overcome and the changes within your Characters that naturally occur from them. Creating backstory and turning points where needed, and bringing your story to a satisfying conclusion. All with the use of Cinematic Techniques and Sequential Storytelling in imagery; and a careful balance of Exposition and Dialogue in text.
